Here's a suggestion for a short article for the Gideons 24h website: World Cup inspires a moment of prayer for persecuted countries among the Gideons.

On June 20th, the children of the Gideons participated in a special activity that combined the spirit of the World Cup with the Christian commitment to intercede for the nations.

Continuing with the theme of the Sunday of the Persecuted Church (DIP), the meeting highlighted that 14 countries participating in the competition face different levels of persecution of Christians. As a way to encourage intercession, each child received a prayer chart with the countries, and was challenged to pray for those who suffer because of their faith in Jesus.

The program also included a creative activity: after each moment of prayer, the children scored a "goal" on a goalpost prepared especially for the activity, symbolizing a spiritual victory achieved through intercession.

The initiative awakened a missionary perspective in the participants, showing that, in addition to cheering for the teams on the field, it is also possible to raise a cry for peoples and nations that need the love and freedom found in Christ.
