An event held in Bujumbura brought together 150 pastors and leaders from four nations for missionary alignment and expansion of the Gideões 24h prayer movement on the African continent.

Between February 24th and 26th, 2026 , the city of Bujumbura hosted an important gathering of Christian leaders focused on strengthening prayer and mission. The “Gideons 24h Pastors Meeting” took place at the MINEVAM Church , bringing together 150 pastors from the denomination , as well as representatives from other African nations.

The meeting was attended by leaders from Burundi , Malawi , Zambia , and Tanzania , in an atmosphere marked by fellowship, spiritual encouragement, and strategic direction for expanding the prayer ministry in churches across the continent.

Missionary alignment and strengthening of prayer.

During the meeting, the coordinator of the Gideons in African nations, Peter Barinzigo , ministered to the pastors present, bringing words of encouragement, spiritual strengthening, and ministerial alignment for the expansion of the Prayer Towers and the work with children and teenagers.

The reflections highlighted the importance of keeping churches centered on prayer , promoting a solid spiritual culture that reaches all generations.

One of the focuses of the meeting was the continued growth of the Prayer Towers , which have been multiplying in various African churches. The initiative is part of the vision of the Gideões 24h Diante do Senhor ministry, which encourages Christian communities to establish places dedicated to continuous intercession.

Prayer for the nations of North Africa

In addition to strengthening the churches already involved in the project, the meeting also pointed to new missionary challenges. Among the priorities for intercession is the advancement of the Gospel in the north of the African continent , a region where Muslim-majority countries predominate.

The movement has mobilized leaders and churches to use prayer as a spiritual tool to prepare for new missionary steps in these regions. "We need to move forward," was the call reinforced to the pastors during the meeting.

Spiritual formation of new generations

Another highlight of the meeting was the encouragement for the implementation and strengthening of projects aimed at children and adolescents, such as the Gideões Mirins, Teens and Sementinhas programs .

These initiatives aim to teach a life of constant prayer from an early age, forming a generation that grows spiritually with a solid foundation in the Christian faith.

The proposal is for children and young people to learn to develop a healthy spirituality, based on intercession, Bible reading, and communion with God.

Invitation to missionary participation

The Gideões 24h Diante do Senhor ministry continues to mobilize churches and intercessors to participate in this missionary vision: to establish Prayer Towers in different nations and to train new generations of intercessors .

Those interested in learning more about the work can visit the ministry's official website or download the Gideões24h app, available to follow the initiatives and participate in the prayer network.

It is also possible to support missionary work by becoming a mission supporter.

🙏 The expansion of the Prayer Towers in Africa continues to be a testament that when the Church unites in intercession, new doors open for the advancement of God's Kingdom among the nations.
